If you are ordering a leader for classes at Paws'itive Pals Dog Training in Grass Valley, please let us know if you would like your leader dropped off at the facility before your class!
The PAWS'ITIVE Leader is a simple no-pull training tool made from biothane (a waterproof and adventure-ready material) - created in collaboration with Lauren of Paws'itive Pals Dog Training in Grass Valley!
Order based on your dog's weight. If your dog falls between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
Small (10-25 lbs): 1/2” head strap, 3/8” muzzle strap
Medium (25-60 lbs): 1/2” head strap, 3/8” muzzle strap
Large (60-120 lbs): 5/8” head strap, 1/2” muzzle strap
Extra Large (120+ lbs): 5/8” head strap, 1/2” muzzle strap
Want a More Custom Fit?
You can provide measurements for both straps and customize your preferred strap widths.
Muzzle strap: Measure around the base of the muzzle, just below the eyes.
Head strap: Measure from underneath the chin and around behind the ears.
Not quite sure you got the measurements right? No worries! We know measuring can be tricky, so we include extra adjustment holes to help fine-tune the fit, whether your measurements end up a little snug or a little loose.
Our Small and Medium sizes come with narrower straps, while Large and Extra Large sizes use wider Biothane, which is typically a good choice for larger dogs. Prefer a different width? You can customize that, too!
When you click Add to Cart, you'll complete a form where you can enter your measurements and strap width preferences. If you choose not to provide measurements, we'll make your Pawsitive Leader using our standard sizing for the weight range you selected.
About the Paws’itive Leader
The Paws’itive Leader is designed to help reduce pulling and lunging on leash. It's a useful training tool for teaching a comfortable, relaxed heel and gently redirecting your dog's attention when it wanders. It provides immediate, gentle control while allowing your dog to eat, drink, pant, bark, and play while wearing it.
The Pawsitive Leader should only be used while your dog is supervised.
Safety First
For added security, always attach your leash to both the Pawsitive Leader's O-ring and the D-ring on your dog's collar, or use our optional safety clip. The safety clip measures 8" from end to end, providing plenty of length to connect the Pawsitive Leader to your dog's collar.
As with any head collar or halter-style lead, it's possible for a dog to slip out. We strongly recommend using one of these safety measures to help prevent your dog from getting loose.
Fit & Adjustability
The Pawsitive Leader features an extra-long adjustment strap with holes every 1/2" to help you find the right fit for your dog.
Once you've found the right fit and your dog is done growing, you can trim any extra strap length with sharp scissors or a knife.
All Pawsitive Leaders are made with stainless steel hardware for lasting durability and corrosion resistance.
Personalization
For an additional $2, we can laser engrave your dog's name directly onto the cheekpiece. Engraving is available in Times New Roman, in all capital letters. At this time, we're unable to offer other fonts or numbers.
